Books have always been my anchor.
Long before I understood why, I knew that words had a way of holding me when little else could. I filled notebooks with poems, stories, reflections, and questions. Writing became the place where I could untangle thoughts, make sense of experiences, and find my way back to myself.
Life, however, has a way of testing the things we believe.
In 2022, I lost my cousin, someone who was more like a sister to me. On the day she died, I sat down and wrote a poem called Broken. Two days later, I wrote another called Remember. I did not know it at the time, but those pieces marked the beginning of a new chapter.
I kept writing.
Through grief, change, uncertainty, growth, and the many seasons that followed, writing remained the thread that connected me to myself. It became a way of processing what life was teaching me and a reminder that even the hardest seasons have something to say, if you are willing to sit with them long enough.
Through it all, my faith remained the ground beneath me, and writing became one of the ways I learned to navigate both the questions and the answers.
That journey eventually became The Serene Analyst.
